Cbank: Russia suffers from hackers less than Western countries

MOSCOW, Feb 2 (PRIME) -- Russia loses from hacking less than Western countries, Artyom Sychyov, deputy director of the central bank’s security department, said Thursday at a forum.

“We’ve recently seen a decrease in theft attempts. It looks in figures as follows: the level of theft to the volume of money electronically circulating in the Russian Federation is at 0.005% of the total volume of electronic money, or 5 kopecks per 1,000 rubles,” Sychyov said.

The amount includes sums stolen by cyber criminals from banks and citizens.

“In Western countries the situation with theft is worse than in our country,” he said, adding that the global level of theft is U.S. $0.09 per $100.

(60.3099 rubles – U.S. $1)
